THE WAR OF THE WORLDS
Starring Orson Welles (anybody remember "Rosebud"), Frank Readick, and Ray
Collins with announcer Dan Seymour. Howard Koch wrote the script for this
dramatization of H.G. Well's thrilling novel of the same name. Strange
energies are seen emenating from the planet Mars that are passed off by the
world's leading scientists as natural phenomena. However, soon after these
energies are seen, the Earth is subjugated byan invading army of Martians
armed with three-legged machines of destruction and heat rays that burn
their victims alive. An astronomer who survives retains hope for the
future of mankind. One is easily taken in by the broadcast. Don't panic!
It's just a radio show.
