BIOMEDICAL COMPUTATION: CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES This series of lectures will illustrate cutting edge research in biomedical computation, ranging from subcellular and cellular computing, including genomics and structural biology, to system level computing, including cardiovascular and neuromuscular bioengineering. Specific topics to be covered include: medical image visualization, surgical planning, image guided surgery, surgical robotics, biomedical education, and modeling in biology, genetics, biomechanics, and surgery. This course is cross listed in Mechanical Engineering (ME 187/384), Computer Science (CS 123) and Medical Information Sciences (MIS 187/287).
